Corporate Gift
A Special Gift When the Sister-City bond between Mitchell Shire, Australia and Honbetsu City, Japan celebrated it's twentieth year it was a priviledge to be be commissioned in the production of a commemorative gift. The result was "Distant Lands 'Neath Single Sun Entwined". This sculptural piece set into a section of Aussie timber shows two red tracts of land each with its specific 'terrain' entwined beneath the sun. On one land grows the Wattle and the other the Persimmon. The background texturing is reminiscent of the skies and oceans between. In the lead up to the presentation of this gift the Japanese delegation visited the Myriad Studio where I was able to show them not only the processes used in developing the piece but also the sample pieces that led to the final work. It was an amazing day where much warmth and laughter was shared! Workshop Dates 2012
Beginner's Weekend Workshops are held once a month. Each workshop is a stand-alone one day event suited to beginners. Choose from: Slumping, Fusing, Glass Jewellery, Mosaics, Glass Masks, Glass flowers, Photos on Glass or the new School Holiday program for kids. Weekday workshops or additional weekend dates are arranged by request. Latest NewsBUS GROUP DEMO TOURS The Myriad Glass Studio is affiliated with buslines that arrange day tours to the Kilmore Area. Your first stop is the studio where I do a talk and demo of the whole glass fusing and slumping process. The highlight is looking into the hot kiln! Morning tea can be arranged for a modest $3 with all proceeds going to local charities. Then you can browse the display of glass & mosaics on show. For more details email: Fused Glass
